Gun control is a publicity stunt

I began reading this article from the Guardian: Why does America lose it's head over 'terror' but ignore its daily gun deaths? Initially, I thought the author offered some valid points about America's over-reaction to terror threats, but then the author took a wrong yet predictable turn about how we as a nation should be responding to the daily gun deaths. Gun control in the form of background checks and regulation of military assault weapons is nothing less than a publicity stunt. The crime statistics do nothing to support this legislative solution.

Here are some of the statistics that I uncovered in my research:

• 96% of guns used in cri
• 57% of guns used in crimes are obtained illegaly from "crooked" gun dealers who list them as "missing firearms." (Approximately 1.2% of gun dealers are "crooked.")
• The ATF only has 1,800 agents to audit 770,000 dealers.
• 96% of guns used in crimes are illegally obtained.

Solutions: Focus on illegal gun dealers; Increase penalties for illegally obtained guns; Focus on decreasing youths involved in criminal activity.

You could say I'm an experience collector. I'm also a product of the "Now" Generation, so I'm not willing to wait around 10 years to gain 10 years worth of experience. I like to fast-track things.

The disadvantage is that if someone is looking to hire someone with 8-10 years experience, I don't have that on paper. But, if you're looking for a well-rounded individual who can do anything and will try anything - I'm the one!

I've definitely got a resume for that.

Need someone with handyman experience?
I've even got a resume for that.

But what's a women with all of these experiences to do? The challenge is to earn a living wage while using all or some of these experiences to create a personalized career path that satisfies my varied interests. So as I embark on this daily challenge, I'm excited to add each new adventure not only to my resume, but to my internal compendium of fulfilling life experiences.
